The 2X72 Belt Grinder DIY Kit is the result of taking a design and evaluating it through years of industrial use. We made upgrades and changes along the way, culminating in this extremely well built yet affordable belt grinder. Our belt grinders are currently in use with multiplemanufacturersmaking cutting tools, firearms and automotive accessories. The DIY 2x72 Belt Grinder kit is designed to be used with 2”x72” abrasive belts and accepts 56c face mount motors (2hp motor recommended).
Our belt grinders are designed in CAD for extreme precision. They are cut from steel using laser cutting technology for repeatable precision. The upper frame, lower frame,platen, tool rest, and tension arm, are all constructed of 1/4" steel. The D Plate isa robust3/8” steel. The tooling arm is 1.5”x1.5”x18” square steel tubing.
Once assembled,the platen is fully adjustable so the perfect belt to platen wall alignment can be achieved.The upper frame assembly has a 90 degree tilt range. The tilt feature is easily engaged from two screws. Tilting increasesfunctionalityof the grinderand allowsfor the use of surface grinders and otherattachments.
These belt grinders are shipped to you as a bolt together kit.All of the welding has been doneby us. There is no welding required by you! All of the drilling and tapping has also been completed by use. The kitarrives without a finish applied (Bare metal). Simply paint the kit your color of choice, then bolt ittogether with the included hardware. PAINT IT, BOLT IT, DONE!
